While making “Swimming Free in the Silver Sea” (2017; Decoupage 40x30in), America was going through a difficult time, as the “Me Too” movement was taking place amidst a severe backlash and the Kavanaugh hearings. Here I have represented women being happy, free, and unafraid, while a tentacled beast is being pulled from the water on the horizon.

“Alice on the Isis” (2016; Pen and Pencil 16x20in) is a depiction of Alice before she falls down the rabbit hole in Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland”. She is innocence, and curiosity amidst boredom.
